The commission involved designing, in accordance to Courtyard by Marriott standards, a 200-key facility within as well as on top of an existing parking structure.  Challenges included merging hotel building systems with those belonging to the shopping complex hosting the hotel tower, merging pedestrian flows pertaining to all uses of the complex, as well as introducing new structural system within a preexisting steel frame.

The design implements sustainable solutions, according to LEED certification criteria. Its northern facade incorporates features passive solar protection in the form of a double exterior envelope that reduces passive solar gain.  

The program includes rooms from floors 7th to 16th. The highest floor includes roof-top terrace, pool and fitness center. The 6th floor works as a sky lobby, providing access to meeting rooms, ballrooms, restaurant, and guest facilities, whereas the 1st floor that features a 4-storey atrium entry and retail areas acts as a main point of access.


The first 6 floors are contained within layers of perforated metal cladding and wooden sunscreen panels, enhancing the existing levels floors and also, providing protection and spatial quality to pedestrians and visitors.
